Dear Professors and Friends:
We are renewing contact with all of you to confirm officially that, as previously announced, we shall be holding the Fourth World Conference on Metaphysics in Rome, November 5-7, 2009, at the headquarters of the Fondazione Idente di Studi e di Recerca (Via Aurelia 773, 00165 Roma).
This series of events has for nearly a decade spurred new interest around the world in foundational thought which, by contributing a valid conception of the absolute, can provide a grounding for both the sciences of the spirit and the empirical sciences in their interrelatedness. Efforts are thus being made to offer a more complete vision of the person and of the humanism which this conception is called to convey.
The breadth of this metaphysical and cultural project has from the outset prompted us to include a wide range of topics and disciplines in the Conference program. The purpose has been to invite professors and scholars from different fields not just to communicate their personal research, but also to share with representatives from other disciplines in a common search for new perspectives in this period of rapid change and unprecedented questions facing humanity.
The original thought of Fernando Rielo has stimulated and enriched these Conferences through his proposal of a “Genetic Metaphysics” open to all branches of human knowledge. Those taking part have welcomed it as a fruitful contribution to our shared reflection.
